Overview
So Many Anatomy Courses Focus on Memorization—Not on Seeing.
This One Teaches You to See.
If you’ve ever tried to learn anatomy from diagrams and muscle charts, you know the drill: Latin names, static poses, endless details you can’t quite retain.
It’s overwhelming.
And worse—it doesn’t stick.
Because artists don’t learn by memorizing.
They learn by building, shaping, and seeing structure come to life.
A Different Kind of Anatomy Course.
In our Anatomy For Artists course, we don’t just label the muscles—we sculpt them.
One form at a time, from the inside out.
You’ll build the figure as a living structure—understanding its mass, gesture, and rhythm.
You’ll train your eye to see what most people overlook:
- the flow beneath the form.
- the structure beneath the surface.
- the visual truth that makes great art believable.
Benefits Of This Method
When you sculpt, everything slows down.
You stop guessing.
You start seeing.
Sculpture is more than a medium—it’s a method.
It forces you to engage. To observe. To understand.
And that’s why it works.
Whether you draw, paint, animate, or design—sculpture unlocks your ability to think in form.
Built for All Artists,
Empowered Through Digital Sculpting
Now, you don’t need to be a Sculptor to learn like one.
Whether you’re a painter, illustrator, concept artist, animator, or designer—this course is for you.
We teach this course using ZBrush. But don’t worry—no experience required.
You’ll learn everything from the ground up, step-by-step.
Why digital? Because it’s fast, forgiving, and flexible—perfect for learning.
But this is not a tech tutorial. It’s a fine art course grounded in timeless principles.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll be guided step-by-step through the construction of the human figure using digital sculpture—a powerful, flexible way to train your artistic eye.
✔️ See the body as a unified whole—not a collection of parts
✔️ Understand gesture, rhythm, mass, and flow at a deep level
✔️ Simplify complex anatomy into usable artistic shapes
✔️ Build a sculpting workflow that mirrors how the body is actually constructed
✔️ Develop visual memory that stays with you long after the course
Note, this is an open course that I am still building along with giving monthly crits to students in the community.
Meet Your Instructor
I was part of the original team behind ZBrush, where I created tools like the Rake brush and built it's digital Anatomy Figure.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve trained thousands of artists—at studios like ILM, Blizzard, and EA Shanghai—helping them bridge the gap between technical skill and artistic mastery.
Now, I'm thrilled to welcome you to my newest project: a space dedicated to the deeper, more artistic side of our craft. Whether you're just starting or leveling up, I’m here to help you see, feel, and sculpt like an artist.

What You'll Learn:
Proportions — The Foundation
Learn to see balance and harmony in the human body. You’ll study key ratios and landmarks that guide accurate, lifelike sculpting using an eight head proportional cannon.

Bony Landmarks — Your Guideposts
Discover the points where bone shapes the form. These landmarks guide every plane and contour, giving your sculpts strength and precision. Bony landmarks never change and are always there to guide you.

Torso Anatomy & Construction — Core of Movement
The torso anchors balance and motion. You’ll study the rib cage, spine, and pelvis — learning how they twist, tilt, and support the body’s flow so your figures feel alive and grounded.

Head Anatomy & Construction — The Center of Expression
Understand the skull, facial planes, and muscle groups that define character. This training gives you the tools to sculpt expressive, realistic heads with structure and personality.

Arm Anatomy & Construction — Strength and Gesture
From shoulder to fingertips, you’ll explore how bone, muscle, and rhythm shape the arm’s power and grace — bringing natural tension and flow to every pose while gaining mileage sculpting one of the hardest parts of the body.

Hand Anatomy & Construction — The Language of Gesture
The hand is the most expressive part of the body. You’ll learn its bone and tendon structure, how form flows from the wrist through the fingers, and how to build hands that feel alive, graceful, and full of intent.

Leg Anatomy & Construction — Foundation and Force
The legs carry the body’s weight and energy. You’ll learn their anatomy, structure, and rhythm to sculpt legs that stand, stride, and move with convincing strength. Note, these lessons are not completed yet.

Four Courses In One
Torso Anatomy
Where Structure Comes Alive
The pulse of every great sculpture begins here.
Explore the interlocking design of the rib cage, pelvis, and spine. Learn to find rhythm in form and balance in mass, so your sculptures breathe with movement and weight.

Head Anatomy
Sculpt the Architecture of Character
Where precision meets emotion.
Behind every powerful portrait lies a hidden structure — the skull, the muscles, the rhythm of form. In this course, you’ll learn to carve those invisible truths into visible life. From planes and proportions to expression and presence, this is where your figures begin to speak.

Arm Anatomy
Anatomy in Motion
Energy. Power. Precision.
The arm carries gesture and emotion through every pose. Master its structure from shoulder to hand, understanding how each muscle drives force, flow, and story through your figure.

Leg Anatomy
Balance, Weight & Grace
Coming Soon.
The legs anchor the figure — and give it gravity. Learn the rhythm of motion through the hips, thighs, and calves to create grounded, lifelike forms that feel sculpted by nature itself.
